On November 5, the award ceremony of the Seventh Chinese Physician Award was held in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. 95 physicians across the country won the award. Professor Shen Huiyong, Director of Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hospital, also Head of Orthopedic Surgery was on the list.

Chinese Physician Award which is approved by the Ministry of Public Health, is the highest award for physicians audited by the State Council. The award aims to honor and promote those who have made great contributions while creating a positive image for the contemporary physicians. It is hoped that through this award, a good medical environment will be created which value the spirit of helping the wounded and the dying, devoting to their duty, being passionate, enterprising and willing to contribute. More good physicians will appear in this way and the patients will thus be bettered serviced. A better physician team will come into being and health care in China will develop in a more healthy way.
