Special column “Caixin Observation”, in the New Era of Caixin online, which was edited by her has focused on trends of reform and commented on public policy with independent stance and unique viewpoints, which contributes to China’s further opening. The chief editor of Harvard Business Review Adi Ignatius mentioned in his comment written for The Time his question to Hu Shuli that what was essential for writing an excellent report, and Hu’s answer was, "Stick to the dream; do it intelligently; and never give up.”

Hu Shuli won international reputation with her independent thinking of Chinese society and continuous enlargement of public opinion space. In the year of 2009 and 2010, she was awarded as one of the 100 Global Thinkers twice by American Foreign Policy magazine.

Recently, Hu Shuli won the Yearly Book of the second China Book Power List with her book Shuli’s Observation—Genuine Problems of China in This Decade.
