Dr. Shuang Wang and Prof. Miao Li from the School of Physics and Astronomy of SYSU published a review article in Physics Reports

On July 16th, 2017, the distinguished research fellow Shuang Wang and Professor Miao Li from the School of Physics and Astronomy of Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU), as well as Assistant Professor Yi Wang from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST), published a review article about holographic dark energy in the famous physics journal Physics Reports. This is the second Physics Reports paper in Chinese society for cosmology, as well as the first Physics Reports paper in the whole Southern China area.

Physics Reports is one of the most influential international journals of physical science. The impact factor of this journal is 17.425, and its 5-year impact factor is 22.000.

Holographic principle is a famous theory proposed by the Nobel prize winner Gerard't Hooft in 1993, and it has been widely applied to various fields, such as particle physics, nuclear physics, condensed matter physics, cosmology and so on. In recent 10 years, more and more attention has been paid to studying dark energy problem by using the holographic principle. In 2004, Prof. Miao Li proposed the first holographic dark energy model that is in good agreement with current astronomical observations. Invited by Prof. Marc Kamionkowski, who is the chief editor of Physics Reports and a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, Dr. Shuang Wang and Prof. Miao Li from SYSU, as well as Prof. Yi Wang from HKUST, published a review article in Physics Reports (Shuang Wang, Yi Wang, Miao Li, Holographic dark energy, Physics Reports 696 (2017) 1-57, https://doi.org/10.1016/j.physrep.2017.06.003). This article systematically reviews the corresponding research progress in the past decade, and then prospects the future research directions of this field.
