In order to carry out the guiding principles of the 17th CPC Central Committee and the spirits of its fifth plenum, to enhance creativity and practicality and to motivate scientists, engineers to contribute more significantly during the period of the twelfth five-year plan, Ministry of Science and Technology awarded the individuals who achieved greatly in their fields during the execution process of the eleventh five-year national plan for technology development at the National Conference on Work in Science and Technology, including the academician Xu Ningsheng from School of Physics and Engineering, Sun Yat-sen University who received the prize of Outstanding Contribution to Planning and Execution for National Science and Technology.

The rewards established this time included the prize of Outstanding Contribution to Scientific Planning, Organization and Management, the prize of Outstanding Contribution to Execution, the prize of Excellent Group Execution and the prize of Excellent Organization and Management. Our university was honoured the award of “the eleventh five-year plan” Excellent Group Execution for national scientific planning as the research and development team for the project “Solar Thermal Technology and System Demonstration”.( School Office)
