On the morning of February 27, in the 2013 Guangdong provincial health system’s working conference on discipline inspection and correction of work style, the Department of Health of Guangdong Province announced the selection results of the 2012 "My Favorite Health Guardian” and "Medical Institution Regarded as Satisfactory by the General Public” campaign. Zhongshan Ophthalmic Center of Sun Yat-sen University was awarded the 2012 "Medical Institution Regarded as Satisfactory by the General Public” by Department of Health of Guangdong Province.
From December 2012 to January 2013, the Department of Health of Guangdong Province launched the selection and publicity campaign of the 2012 "My Favorite Health Guardian” and “Medical Institution Regarded as Satisfactory by the General Public” in the whole province. This selection campaign is aimed to publicize outstanding health workers and medical institutions, arouse the enthusiasm of medical personnel and promote social understanding and support for health work. After the procedures of recommendation by local units, online voting announcement, exhibition of advanced deeds and comprehensive appraisal, finally ten people were awarded the 2012 Guangdong "My Favorite Health Guardian” and ten units were awarded the “Medical Institution Regarded as Satisfactory by the General Public”.
