On July 10, 2017, Professor Luo Jun, President of Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU), inspected the Seventh Affiliated Hospital and the Eighth Affiliated Hospital of SYSU, accompanied by SYSU Vice President Yang Qinghua as well as leaders from the Organization Department, Office of Human Resources, and Office of Development and Planning of SYSU.
The joint meeting of Futian District and SYSU
In the morning, SYSU and Futian District of Shenzhen City held a joint meeting to build the Eighth Affiliated Hospital. Xiao Yafei, Party Chief of Futian District; Gao Shengyuan, District Mayor of Futian District; He Jie, Deputy District Mayor of Futian District; and leaders from the district’s functional departments including the Organization Department, Development and Reform Bureau, Finance Bureau, and Health and Family Planning Bureau, attended the meeting.
At the meeting, the two sides discussed issues on research building, talent introduction policy, staffing quota, policy-related housing, and reached consensus on establishing a normal communication and coordination mechanism.

Afterwards, President Luo Jun went to the Seventh and the Eighth Affiliated Hospitals to inspect the construction work, and held a meeting with the leaders and experts of the two hospitals. Prof. He Yulong, President of the Seventh Affiliated Hospital, and Prof. Chen Guihua, President of the Eighth Affiliated Hospital, respectively reported on the construction work of the hospitals, the existing difficulties and problems. President Luo Jun affirmed the construction progress of the two hospitals, and he asked the two hospitals to complete the construction as soon as possible, strengthen talent recruitment and internal management, promote medical service, teaching and research, and build first-class hospitals.
