On the morning of Oct. 23, Juha Alatalo, vice President of Jonkoping University, together with his faculty, visited SYSU, and was received by SYSU vice president Xu Ningsheng who gave a brief presentation to the delegation on the general affairs and development strategies of SYSU. He expressed that the two sides could extend cooperation in aspects of scientific research, student and faculty exchange and gave policy support to dual-degree programs to further promote exchanges and cooperation between the two universities. Vice president Juha Alatalo confirmed the existing cooperation programs and briefed on the affairs of international exchange and cooperation of Jonkoping University.

Xu Yao, deputy Director of the office of International Cooperation & Exchange of SYSU, also attended the welcome meeting. Responsible officers from School of Engineering and Lingnan College talked with the delegation respectively over how to further carry forward cooperation in relevant fields.

It is reported that Sweden Jonkoping University is not only one of the Higher Institutions acknowledged by the Higher Education Department of Swedish government but also one of the three national funded universities. So far, Jonkoping University has conducted cooperation with Lingnan College of SYSU on programs of students exchange, undergraduate dual-degree programs, and summer schools, etc.
