The results of 2011 “Self-improvement Stars of Chinese University Students” Award were announced. Student Yang Mengheng from Sun Yat-sen University was awarded the title of “Self-improvement Stars of Chinese University Students” while Lizhen, Chen Shiming received the honorable mention. Their ceaseless self-improvement, self-transcendence and dream-realizing were good demonstrations of their exceptional abilities, manifesting the positive attitude of excellent university students and setting amiable, respectable, authoritative and worth-learning examples for contemporary university students.

The activity for year 2011 started last December. 5206 students from 921 universities nationwide applied and 2450 among them were qualified for recommendation. After stages of online application, university recommendation, provincial recommendation, and reviews of organizing committee, 10 students were honored as self-improvement models of Chinese university students, 100 as self-improvement stars, and 800 as honorable mention winners.
