On the afternoon of May 22, 2015, Dr. Jelena Stajic, Senior Editor at Science journal, and Ms. Ruolei Wu, Associate Director of Collaboration, Operations & Custom Publishing at Science journal, visited Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU).

Dr. Jelena Stajic delivered a lecture entitled “Publishing in Science: an editor’s perspective” in Swasey Hall on South Campus. The lecture was chaired by Prof. Wang Biao, Chinese Dean of Sino-French Institute of Nuclear Engineering and Technology. Dr. Jelena Stajic talked about the peer review at Science journal and addressed the complementary roles of authors, referees and editors in that process. She also discussed the crucial aspects of successful submissions to Science. After the lecture, Dr. Jelena Stajic communicated with SYSU teachers in the fields of physics and computer science.

Ms. Ruolei Wu had a meeting with staff members from Office of Research & Development and Office of International Cooperation & Exchange, and discussed overseas promotion of the university. Ms. Gu Wenli and Ms. Wu Xiaoyan, deputy directors of Office of International Cooperation & Exchange, attended the meeting.
